1. How Much Do You Charge?
All of our prices and packages are listed on our photography pricing and packages page. However you are welcome to give us a call so that we can customized a package together which best suites your needs...
2. How Much Experience Do You Have?
You can find out about our staff's experience by visiting our "About Us" page.
3. How many wedding photographers come with your packages?
Starr Productions provides at least two photographers with every wedding package, we just feel that too much is going on at a wedding for only one photographer to capture all the special moments. One photographer concentrates on wedding photojournalism and the candids the other concentrates on the traditional wedding style.
4. How far ahead do I need to book my Photographer
Ultimately it all depends on you. We have customers who book a year in advance to make sure they get the photographers that they want. You will also want to take into account the time of year you are trying to hold your event, especially a wedding. Our photographers do mostly weddings, and our photographers get booked very quickly for the summer months which are the prime wedding season, so take that into account. To be on the safe side, as soon as you're sure of your date, time, and place give us a call.
5. Do you charge for travel, hotel or car rental?
If your event is over 100 miles driving distance from the Washington DC area, we will charge for travel fees, but we do not charge for hotels or car rentals...
6. What style of wedding photography do your photographers take?
Starr Productions Wedding Photography has staff that are qualified to take Candid, Photojournalistic and Traditional styles dependent on weather, bridal party size, first or second marriage, and cooperation level with Bride and Groom.
7. Will I meet the Photographers that will be shooting my weding before my wedding?
Yes, we always insist that we set up a free consultation with all brides and grooms before any wedding or practically any event we do. Most of the time we meet with couples two or three times in person, with numerous contacts via telephone or E-mail. The same photographers you meet will be the same photographers shooting your wedding.
8. How long should I plan for the post wedding pictures - called formals?
Between 1 - 2 hours is a plan that works for most wedding parties.
9. I am having a late wedding ceremony … can we take photos of the bride and groom, bridal party and family prior to the late afternoon or evening wedding ceremony without extra charges?
Starr Productions charges by the hour but we do have some customized packages which includes unlimited coverage for the entire wedding day and encourages couples to take as many photos as possible during the mid afternoon - prior to the wedding ceremony … allowing for more time with family and friends later.
10. How many proofs will I receive with Starr Productions Photography?
Starr Productions Wedding Photography will take an average of 1000 Exposures on your wedding day, we don't "count" images on your day, its unlimited. Our average proof books have around 300-475 images, with no markings or copyright stamps - your wedding photos will be clear and pristine. The same principle applies to online photos, since the program we use won't allow anyone to "copy or save" the images...
11. Should I include my photographers in the meal count?
When you hire Starr Productions we are "YOUR WORKERS" and you are the BOSS. You hire us to SERVE YOU, not to be served. All we ask for is a nice big pitcher of water. Once in a while though we may eat, but only when the client is very insistent, we don't want to insult any of our clients...
12. Should I tip my Photographers?
The best answer I have heard for this question is the phrase...."A tip is not expected, but always appreciated."
